A new way of expressing yourself
Over the course of its life, Rocket League has developed many new ways through which players can express themselves. Obviously, new cars, different rims, and unique boost types have been part of the game since birth. Then came the more intense goal explosions, the streaks of fire behind your car, etc.
With the new season coming, it’s the turn of the Player Anthems. Similar to Goal Blasts, a song of your choice will be played whenever you score, make an epic save, and are awarded the MVP title at the end of the game. You will be able to choose that song from a list, such as when you select your goal explosion or any type of customizable item.
In addition, artist Kaskade is at the center of this addition with his music. The collaboration doesn’t stop with taking songs from this artist and implementing them into the game, they are completely new songs and tailor-made for the game. This was done in a similar fashion to the multiple Monstercat albums that have been released. within Rocket League for the past few years.

A new card filled with Neon
In the same vein as the Player Anthems, the “Rave” theme is applied at full force in the new arena Neon Fields. The terrain looks like a mix between Neo Tokyo and Rocket Labs maps. Very different from soccer style pitches, it also sports a stage where there is a concert. This last aspect borrows heavily from Epic Games’ flagship game. Remember the multiple gigs on Fortnite and you will understand where Neon Fields came from.
Obviously, who says new season called new Rocket Pass. The star of this pass is the all new R3MX vehicle. As usual, a different version is available for those who reach the 70th grade of the premium pass. The interesting aspect of the new items introduced with this Rocket Pass is that the items will be synchronized with the music of the menus and arenas. This aspect is completely unique to these new products.

Rocket Labs back, a glimpse of the future?
For new players, you may be new to Rocket Labs special maps. Intending to be experimental arenas, the terrains available in this mode are completely different from the standard map we are used to. This mode was previously available and is making a comeback with the “rebirth” of Rocket League. What’s more, many arenas like Wasteland and Neo Tokyo were different from their modern version. These cards can still be found in private games under different names like Badlands.

When the so-called non-standard arenas were released, community reception was more negative than the reverse. However, over time players have improved and a certain pool of players would like to see their return citing that they were implemented too early in the life of the game. Perhaps the addition of the Rocket Labs mode is a step took that direction. It is quite possible that this is a way of testing the waters as to their popularity within the community.
In short, season 2 of Rocket League will bring all these changes and will be available from December 9, 2020.
