The X Games have teamed up with the developers of Rocket League to create an online esports event as part of the festival. The RLCS X Games: North American Regional is part of the official eSport circuit of the auto ball simulation and will let the strongest teams from North America compete against each other. The specialty: The winners will be officially honored as medal winners of the X Games, the cooperation between Psyonix and the X Games was deepened again compared to the first joint event in 2017 in Minneapolis. The first rounds will be played on January 23rd and 24th, but the final games will be played as part of the X Games program on January 30th and 31st.

The fans will benefit from January 21, because on the occasion of the cooperation, the developers are releasing numerous in-game items with X Games branding in the game, some of which can be obtained for free.
