According to the publication, the missile should be an updated version of the Korean tactical surface-to-surface missile (KTSSM), called the “long-range artillery killer.”
While the existing KTSSM system operates on a stationary platform, it is expected that the new missile will be launched on a mobile launcher, which will increase its maneuverability and strength.
So, if the KTSSM has a range of 180 kilometers with a caliber of 400 millimeters, it is expected that the upgraded version of the missile will be larger with a longer range of about 300 km.
Recall that last year North Korea intensified its weapons demonstrations, which included a series of rocket and artillery launches, which it called the so-called “simulated nuclear strikes on targets in South Korea and the United States.”
