TAs predicted, the remains of a rocket drifting through space collided with the Moon. Initially, these space debris were believed to be the remains of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, but currently, it is speculated that they belong to the Chang’e 5-T1 mission from China.
How does the site CNetthe collision took place on March 6 on the dark side of the Moon, with space debris traveling at a speed of 8,000 km/h.
It was not possible to observe the moment of the impact, but by the middle of the month, it is believed that NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter will be properly positioned to capture photographs of the impact.
