Rock legend Tina Turner has died at the age of 83
American rock legend Tina Turner has passed away at the age of 83, according to a statement posted on her official Instagram account.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. Today we bid farewell to a dear friend who leaves behind her greatest achievement: her music. We send our heartfelt sympathy to her family.”
During her career, which began at the end of the fifties of the twentieth century in the United States, Turner won eight Grammy Awards, the most prominent American music rewards.
And with her hit songs, such as “Browd Mary” or “The Best”, the blonde-haired singer and charming smile succeeded in igniting the crowd’s enthusiasm thanks to her remarkable show talent on stage.
And the obituary statement, through the account of the American singer, who also holds Swiss citizenship, pointed out that “with her musical works and boundless passion for life, (Turner) has delighted millions of fans around the world and inspired future stars.”
The White House considered the death of “icon” Tina Turner “a tremendous loss.”
“This is very sad news,” said White House spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre. “Tina Turner was an icon in the field of music.”
The famous singer began to attract audiences since the sixties of the last century, and released hit songs for five decades.
Turner began achieving success first with her ex-husband, Ike Turner, and then had a very successful solo career after she divorced her husband because of his abuse.
