GRAY DAZE present the new video clip for their track ‘Drag’ from The Phoenix album.

The GRAY DAZE full-length player was released in digital form on June 17th. The physical release on CD and LP will follow on July 1st. Drummer/songwriter Sean Dowdell reveals the story of the song ‘Drag’:

“‘Drag’ is a very dark and moody track, but the underlying message is really special. Chester literally told us that life is too short to get stoned, life is too short to be a bore. It is a song that gives any listener with a drug history something to feel better about, something to help them pull themselves out of this hole.”

GRAY DAZE were the first band of the late LINKIN PARK singer Chester Bennington. Dave Navarro and Richard Patrick also guest-starred on the new disc, The Phoenix, alongside Chester’s daughters Lily and Lila Bennington. During the first phase of GRAY DAZE, which lasted from 1994 to 1997, the group recorded and released two albums. These albums form the basis for “Amends” and “The Phoenix”. Before his death, Chester Bennington publicly announced the return of GRAY DAZE, which also included a re-recording of the band’s largely undiscovered discography. With Talinda Bennington’s blessing and in collaboration with producer Esjay Jones, surviving band members Dowdell, bassist Mace Beyers and guitarist Cristin Davis have gone on to pay tribute to their late brother and bandmate, but also to show his fans another facet of the creative singer . “Amends” was released in 2020. In late 2020, the trio reunited to work with Esjay Jones to re-record and rework the remaining ten tracks that would become “The Phoenix”.
