Local garage rock band ‘Nova Koma’ has released a new single ‘Untruths’, reinforced with a music video. Arm yourself with patience: the new piece lasts eight minutes! But listening to this song, those minutes won’t be wasted.
The group “Nova Koma” wrote the approximately eight-minute song for several months, but refined the arrangement during all summer concerts. The actual recording and processing was done in the autumn under the guidance of guitarist Jānis Kalvānas in the “Gateris” studio. The video was shot on the premises of “Vagonu Halle”, cameraman and editor – Krišjānis Pleiko (“Upeskino”). As singer Mārtiņš Vilnītis says, “the song is about situations where people almost or accidentally lie about completely irrelevant things. However, these little things add up and eventually the relationship becomes empty courtesy phrases or echoing the point of other person’s view, whether you agree with it or not.
About “Nova Koma”. Founded in 2015, it consists of four musicians: Mārtiņš Vilnītis (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Jānis Kalvāns (guitar, vocals), Roberts Kočots (drums) and Alise Golovacka (bass, vocals). Several albums were released, two of which were nominated for the “Zelta Mikrofona” award in the rock music category. The group actively organizes concerts together with other independent rock music associations, as well as participating in festivals of various caliber, including taking the stage at the 2022 “Positivus” festival.
