Rock ballads will be performed in the concert hall ‘Latvija’

Thursday, Aug. 5, at 19:00 in the concert hall “Latvija” together with the mixed choir “Ventspils”, as well as musicians of Ventspils Chamber Orchestra and Ventspils big band performers of the concert program “Rock Ballads. Duets” – soloists Aija Vītoliņa, Elza Rozentāle, Andris Ērglis and Atis Ieviņš. Conductor Aigars Meri.

The program includes compositions well-known and loved by rock music lovers, performed by world-famous soloists and musical associations. Listeners will hear Bradley Cooper’s and Lady Gag’s touching “Shallow”, Nick Keiva and Kylie Minogue’s once-huge “Where The Wild Roses Grow”, and many other recognizable and sung tunes. Arrangements of compositions have been created by Ritvars Garoza and Rūdolfs Bērtiņš

The performance will be complemented by an accompanying group – percussionist Gundars Lintiņš, guitarists Jānis Čubars and Kristiāns Kupčs, keyboardist Zane Volberga, bassist Ivars Ozols.

Concert program created by conductor Aigars Meri with a similar name – “Rock ballads. The Beginning ”- was first performed in the spring of 2019 in the theater house“ Jūras vārti ”. Rock ballads created by Latvian and foreign composers at that time were also performed by soloists who had become popular in Latvia together with the Ventspils Chamber Orchestra.

Tickets for the concert “Rock Ballads. Duets. ” can be purchased in the “Biļešu Paradīze” sales network. A 10% discount is applied to Friend Card holders, Family Card holders, pensioners, people with disabilities and their assistants.

The concert is intended for a mixed type of audience – both vaccinated, Covid-19 sick and pre-event Covid-19 test visitors, able to present an appropriate digital certificate, personalized entrance ticket and identity document.
