Real-world data (RWD), such as data from structured electronic health records with information on cancer types, molecular profiles, treatments and outcomes, can provide important points for treatment decisions, according to a press release from Roche.
However, according to the information, this data is rarely available in a scaled and structured form, which means that its potential is not being exploited. The aim of the project is to find out how RWD can be processed in such a way that it ultimately improves patient care.
The public-private partnership between USZ, UZH and Roche is called the Precision Oncology Program (POP) and, according to the announcement, is jointly developed and financed by the parties.
