One of the largest archives of national rock from the 80s, that of the photographer Gabriel Roccawill be seen in an interactive exhibition on the first floor of Abasto Shopping, which opens on October 19 under the title “Rocca Box” and can be visited for a month, with free entrance.
This is the first interactive photographic exhibition by Gabriel Rocca, which will display a selection of his most outstanding works in a kind of temporary museum whose external structure will simulate an old photographic camera, presented as an artistic installation.
It is a museum created especially to display mythical photographs from the history of rock, which invites the viewer to immerse themselves in this camera-shaped box to be witness of a time of contrasts and paradoxes, the same power that gave rock its golden years, constrained Argentina with the bloodiest military dictatorship in its history and the Malvinas War.

“In all that time, national rock lived its golden years and became the soundtrack of our lives,” in the words of the organizers about the exhibition that seeks to celebrate photography in an interactive way.
Portraits in black and white and in color that are already part of the collective unconscious and are cult pieces make up the itinerary, through figures such as Charly García, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Luca Prodan, Ricardo Mollo, Juanse, Ratones Paranoicos, Dante Spinetta, Miguel Mateos, Los Abuelos de la Nada, David Lebon, Nito Mestre, Raul Porchetto, Gustavo Cerati, Soda Stereo, Pappo, RIFF, Andrés Calamaro, Fito Páez and Fabiana Cantilo.
You will also see, along the route, photographs of Miguel Cantilo, Juan Carlos Baglietto, Lito Nebbia, Leon Gieco, IKV, Virus, Los Twist, Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, Pedro Aznar, Sumo, Patricia Sosa, Celeste Carballo, Sandra Mihanovich and the Fabulosos Cadillacs.

“Rocca Box” will allow access to the box for groups of 25 people who will take a tour of approximately 20 minutes. With a metal structure and covered in wood and canvas, it has two well-defined parts inside: in the first there are LED screens where visuals and videos are shown. In the other part, there is an analog exhibition, with museum-quality paintings and photographic copies, where people will have access to QR codes through which they will learn the stories of the photos told by Rocca himself.
Besides, Inside “Rocca Box” there will be objects exhibited in showcases that make up the world of rock and photography.

The visitors They will be able to play the guitar, listen to legendary vinyl and enjoy moments alone with the most legendary artists of national rock..
The experience concludes with the possibility that the public who visits can take their own photo that will be taken in the specially prepared photo opportunity and a poster with some iconic images of national rock captured by Rocca.
The sample, of free entrywill be on the first floor of Abasto Shopping (Avenida Corrientes 3247) from October 19 to November 19 and during the duration of the exhibition, the façade of the building, on Corrientes Avenue, will display large-sized images of the most prominent musicians of Argentine rock.
