It is the eternal debate in tennis. Who is the most difficult opponent to play against? Is the best in history Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic or Roger Federer? Many tennis players have given their opinion and have told their experiences against them. Tommy Robredoa former Spanish tennis player, has detailed the difficulties of playing against Nadal.
“Rafa Nadal has been the toughest opponent I’ve played against because of the way he plays, the speed he gives to the ball, the effects of his forehandin addition to the difference that being left-handed means and the way in which he runs for each ball as if it were the first”, he stated in an interview with ‘Sportskeeda’.
“I don’t want to say that the rest of the tennis players are easy, but for me Rafa has something that makes you suffer more on the court than the rest do”, says Robredo.
Regarding the Big Three, do you think that “It’s between Rafa and Novak”: “Right now I think the issue of who will be the best in history is between Rafa and Novak.”
“It depends on whether we consider the Grand Slams as the most important or if we also give more importance to the Davis Cup of each one, the number one weeks and other factors. It is very difficult to say right now,” explains Robredo.
Alcaraz, “a fantastic player”
The former tennis player also analyzed the phenomenon Carlos Alcarazwho is already fifth in the ranking after the Hamburg tournament: “Carlos is a fantastic player, with a lot of talent, a great team, and high expectations”.
“Time will tell, but if all goes well, he could be one of the tennis players to dominate this sport for many years. But there are many things that influence it, such as health, that there are other great tennis players of his generation and how he will manage the pressure. But I think he has everything to be one of the best.”
