Robinho is added to the Interpol red list and will serve a sentence in Brazil

The Italian judiciary found Robinho guilty of gang rape of an Albanian woman in a Milan nightclub, for which the former soccer player must serve nine years in prison. In this framework, during the last hours new information about the future of the Brazilian emerged.

From Italy they indicated that they want the former Real Madrid player to serve his sentence in Brazil. According to Globoesporte, The Italian Minister of Justice, Stefano Opilio, indicated: “We are going to ask for the execution of Robinho’s sentence in Brazil”.

This decision, which also goes to Ricardo Falco, a friend of Robinho and found guilty on the same charge, it is by virtue of the impossibility of being extradited. This is because the Brazilian Constitution of 1988 vetoes the extradition of Brazilian citizens. Opilio referred to this situation and classified it as “a peculiarity, I have not found it with other countries.”

What’s more, both will be included in the red list of the international police, which means that they can be detained in the rest of the 194 countries linked to the institution, in case they leave Brazilian lands.

Opilio himself will be in charge of communicating the international arrest request to Interpol against Robinho and Falco.
