Six years after his death, the reasons for the actor’s suicide become clear. A docufilm due out in September, “Robinʼs Wish”, explains how Williams suffered from Lewy body dementia, a neurodegenerative disease that was “disintegrating” him.

Just as the anniversary of Williams’ death falls, the trailer for the documentary has been released which will tell about his last days of life. To remove a veil on what happened in the weeks before the tragedy, we think above all Robin’s wife, Susan Scheneider Williams, and the director Shawn Levy, who directed the actor in his latest film, “Night at the Museum: The Pharaoh’s Secret”.
The director himself says that during the making of the film it became clear that Williams had problems. “I remember that he told me that something was happening to him – he explains -, that he no longer felt the same”. And his wife reveals why. Things became clear to her after receiving the coroner’s report which revealed a bigger picture than many had drawn. “My husband was battling a fatal disease – she says -. All areas of his brain had been attacked by the disease. An experience that totally disintegrated him.” Lewy body dementia is in fact a devastating disease, which has characteristics are those of increasing anxiety and insecurity, causing very strong disappointments in the person who is affected by them.
