Istanbul –
Ex player Manchester United, Robin van Persie, criticizes Harry Maguire. He said, the Manchester United center-back was not capable enough to start attacks from behind.
Newest, Manchester United swallowing bad results. MU was defeated by Istanbul Basaksehir on Thursday (5/11/2020) early morning WIB in Matchday 3 Champions League.
Manchester United itself had two goals behind by the actions of Demba Ba and Edin Visca. Anthony Martial could only reply once.
Even so, MU still ranks second in Group H with six points. RB Leipzig stuck tightly in second place with the same points with only a difference in goal difference.
Former Manchester United player, Robin van Persie throw criticism at the MU captain, Harry Maguire. For him, Maguire was not good enough to flow the ball forward.
“Harry Maguire is not good at passing the ball forward to build a slow attack from behind,” said Robin van Persie as reported by the press. BT Sport.
“Look, MU defensive midfielders have to go down to the inside to pick up the ball. It should not be like that,” continued van Persie.

Robin van Persie assessed that a central defender must have qualified passing skills. It is undeniable that many clubs have begun to build attacks from center-backs who can pass to midfielders or directly feed into the heart of the opponent’s defense.
“Harry Maguire should be able to go up a little higher. It’s tough for him, but it provides more options for his other colleagues,” said van Persie.
“But maybe, that’s not a strategy used by Manchester United,” concluded van Persie, who once defended Manchester United from 2012 to 2015 with one Premier League champion.
