The famous Sycamore Gap tree, located in a natural depression in the landscape along Hadrian’s Wall in northern England, may have been “deliberately felled” overnight, Northumberland National Park Authority said on Thursday.

The landmark, which the national park claims is its most photographed location, is also known as “Robin Hood’s Tree” after it featured in the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Robbers, and in 2016 .was voted English Tree of the Year.
