An Oscar couple to rob the rich and give to the poor
The story of Robin Hood, a character that comes from the songs that minstrels sang in medieval times, has been brought to the big screen in multiple films. Douglas Fairbanks was the first to get into the skin of the popular outlaw, back in 1922. Since then, dozens of actors have played the character, highlighting the performances of Sean Connery, on Robin y Marian (1976) o Kevin Costner, on Robin Hood, prince of thieves (1991).
In the film that is broadcast on television today, Ridley Scott was commissioned to direct a version starring Russell Crowe, who won the Oscar for his great performance in Gladiator (2000). Along with the Australian actor, leading the cast of Robin Hood was also Cate Blanchett. The two-time Oscar winner, first as Best Supporting Actress in The Aviator (2005) and later as Best Actress for Blue Jasmine (2014), got into the skin of Lady Marion.
