“Maybe it’s cruel, what I’m going to say, but when dad left six years ago, of course, I went through a lot, but not so much, because I was left with mom. But when mom left… Mom was the pillar of our family, the bank – everything, everything. We had similar characters, and it’s still very strange for me to talk about her in the past…” reveals Roberto, adding that he often sees his mother in his dreams.
He still hasn’t accepted this fact. “Sometimes I catch myself thinking – why hasn’t she called today?
Her name was Binzheda, she was the only one in the neighborhood with that name, and everyone knew her. Mom was very strong, she helped dad on the farm, also with the hard work.”
He is grateful that his mother taught him simplicity and openness. “Wherever I go, I like to get to know people, I don’t judge anyone by how useful he might be to me. (..) Mom always built bridges between people who had quarreled. Also in our family, when there were any disputes, mom was the one , who tried to reconcile everyone, and she succeeded. Such a talent! At my mother’s house, there was always something delicious on the table for the guests, the neighbors – for everyone. And I have learned that from her as well.”
