Robert Mancini thinking carefully about his decision to resign from the coaching chair Italian national team. He already had the intention to step down from a few months ago.
Mancini decided to resign as coach of the Italian national team. In fact, he is actually still under contract with Gli Azzurri until 2026.
Mancini’s decision was somewhat sudden. Mancini submitted his resignation letter on Saturday (12/8) and the FIGC officially announced it a day later.

He ended his five years together with Gli Azzurri. The former Inter Milan coach was able to help Italy win the 2020 European Cup.
Despite the sudden impression, Mancini emphasized that he had thought about his decision to resign as coach of Italy long ago. The reason Mancini withdrew was an internal problem in La Nazionale’s body. Mancini felt he could not get the support of the president of the Italian football federation (FIGC) Gabriele Gravina.
Mancini rate steps taken is the best. He actually really wanted to continue coaching Italy. However, the situation in the Italian national team has made Mancini no longer comfortable.
“After five and a half years, it could happen. There is a contract of two and a half years to go, but I have been thinking about this for months and maybe the time has come to leave. When you feel some situation is changing internally, it means you are coming to the end ,” Mancini told La Republicca.
“I don’t think that I showed a lack of respect for anyone, I certainly didn’t kill anyone. I am saddened to read and hear certain things said. I hope to continue, because I really enjoyed coaching Italy, but when the situation changes and you realizing it’s time to move on, you have to do it sooner rather than later. It’s with great sadness that’s what I did.”
