Roberto Chile: “If the coronary heart does not fly there is no poetry” (+ Images)

Roberto Chile is not completely wrong when he says that in his most recent exhibition, pictures and poetry have left their mark. He goes to the verses of the French poet René Char to reaffirm it: “The poet will have to leave traces in his path, not evidence. Only the footprints make you aspiration “. And this goal is obtained, probably, if every graphic, if every single verse, is held in the psychological memory and penetrates inside of, like a refuge the place the most various thoughts are saved.

“Where poetry nests” is the title of the Chilean assessment, which has been open for two months at the “José Martí” Countrywide Library in Cuba and which has just finished. The exhibition consists of 20 images of the artist taken in the previous ten years and just about every picture is accompanied by a poem. The exhibition opens with the verses of Chile itself in “Cauces”, a variety of desperate tune, and then, the twenty poets.

Where poetry nests it is distinguished by a fantastic selection of genres and models and by the absence of discursive unity. “The only way I found to set the pictures together was poetry: twenty Cuban poets who, every single motivated by just one of my images, wrote attractive poems,” claims Chile, adding: “the photos and poems complement each other. every other the poet interprets from his abstraction, the strategy, the experience of the photographer, and the verses arise ”.

Every image is a variety of enigma, for the reason that powering it there is so a lot heritage and there is a country that is deciphered just about every day.

From the mulatta who plays the saxophone in a pretty Cuban road, the ritual smoke that blindfolds a brunette, the Island that drags itself in a wave in front of the ft of Havana, the black guy and his basin, the eyes of the old woman – our aged female, our grandmother -, the bouquets, the image of Che and the clock that marks the time in which they eternalized him, the clock over that photograph of Che – cursed 1:10 in the afternoon -, the flag and the palm tree, also myth and religion … Cuba is in all of this, in just about every of all those images, in each and every of the poems joined to them in great harmony.

In the exhibition’s signature ebook, César Gómez wrote: “Your channels are nonetheless intact”. Chile continues to appreciate “the light that stretches its threads on the river bed and will take root”. He is not completely wrong, I repeat, when he suggests that “if the coronary heart does not fly, there is no poetry”. For Chile, poetry is expressing silence and images is “speaking with mild and shadow, perpetuating and dreaming of life,” he suggests.

Pertaining to his work, Eusebio Leal the moment wrote: “His illustrations or photos constitute a universe of faith and spirituality, perceivable by those people who, like him, are able of loving”.

I return to Víctor Casaus, to his poetry, simply because possibly it incorporates the synthesis of this exhibition by Roberto Chile in which a photographic puzzle is latent. It truly is genuine. It is in every of the images. And you can really feel it. If you really don’t see an island from the very first photograph to the previous, from the last to the to start with, if you do not see that alligator so ours, if you do not really feel it, try once again.
