At the same time, the team’s big star, Robert Lewandowski, went through a tragedy.
“Very tough”
In his documentary film, which has been available on Amazon in Poland since the end of March, the 34-year-old reveals that he and his wife Anna suffered a miscarriage shortly before the start of the tournament.
– It was a difficult situation for us as a family. The time just before was very tough. I had to focus on football somehow, but I always had a much more important subject on my mind. The spectators had no idea, they just expected me to score and just be Robert, says he.
Two daughters
However, this is not the first time Robert Lewandowski has lost someone he loves.
When the Pole was just 16 years old, his father Krzysztof died of cancer.
Today, the couple are parents of two children. In 2017, the couple’s first child, daughter Klara, was born and in 2020 she had a little sister.
