FC Barcelona once again failed to make it to the round of 16 of the Champions League. Despite all the criticisms, newcomer Robert Lewandowski (34) does not see the failure as too dramatic because his team has enormous potential.
When asked about the end of the premier class, the ambitious forward was remarkably in control. “I knew we wouldn’t win everything in my first season at Barcelona,” Lewandowski replied in an interview with Marca. “This team is still rebuilding and it will take time, it’s part of the process.”
The Pole therefore sees the preliminary round as a test of maturity. “We should play in the next round of the Champions League but we have learned a lot, above all because we have so many young players. We have made some mistakes and at this level we must always be ready.” In particular, his team must learn to win close matches.
With his statement, Lewandowski, for example, is alluding to the first leg of the group stage against FC Bayern. Barça were the dominant team in the first half but failed to turn that lead into goals. Even Lewy himself failed several times from the most promising position. In the end, the guests of the Allianz Arena in Munich unfortunately lost with 0:2.
Primera Division: Lewy confrontation with the Bundesliga
Robert Lewandowski, who played for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern for a total of twelve years in the Bundesliga, was asked in the interview about the difference between the Spanish and German leagues, among other things. The center forward initially hesitated with a concrete answer.

“Obviously every league is different. In La Liga there are more clubs, more matches. But it’s hard to say exactly what the differences are,” Lewandowski explained. However, after almost three months in Spain, he has noticed some small nuances.
The Pole saw more attacking football in Spain than in his old adoptive country: “In the Bundesliga there are perhaps more teams that play defense and wait for counter-attacks.”
He also thinks that the German league is more physical. However, he needs more time for a full confrontation, as the striker pointed out.
