Robert Kubica will drive an F1 car again. There is a confirmation
For Kubica it will be the third C42 run this season. The Polish driver has already had the opportunity to take part in pre-season tests in BarcelonaHowever, it only covered nine laps due to technical problems with the vehicle. Later, he attended a movie day, also in Spain, and he spent more time in the car testing Pirelli tires on the Imola circuit (100 laps).
The journey of the Polish driver will be of great importance, because Alfa Romeo has prepared a large package of fixes for the Barcelona race. The 37-year-old took an active part in their preparation, while working in the simulator. Most likely, he will have the opportunity to travel not only at the racing pace, but also at the qualifying pace.
The team from Hinwil hopes that the changes will allow them to escape the classification of the teams in the middle of the field. The corrections mainly concern the front wing and the entire floor of the vehicle, but there are probably even more of them, only Alfa Romeo does not want to reveal all the details yet. – We have done a lot of work in the field of the simulator and it is paying off. This development is still ongoing and it is a very useful tool for us. Spanish GP will start with Friday’s training sessions. In Saturday there will be a third practice session and by 16 the drivers will face in qualifying. The race is scheduled for Sunday (May 22) and should start at 3pm. Alfa Romeo is currently fifth in the Constructors’ Championship with 31 points. In the table, however, it leads the way Scuderia Ferrariwhich has so far collected 157 points.
