The family resemblance is undeniable. Pool blue eyes, country club tan, advertising smile, Robert Kennedy Jr belongs to the most famous American political dynasty. Third of the eleven children of Robert “Bobby” Kennedy, nephew of President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy Jr announced last April his candidacy for the Democratic primaries. He thus becomes the fifth Kennedy to run for president.

At 69, he is called “Junior” only to differentiate himself from his father, whose first name he bears, in the American tradition. Robert Junior was 14 when he was shot in Los Angeles during his presidential campaign in 1968. He was 9 when his uncle was assassinated in Dallas in 1963.
