Robert Durst charged with murder for the third time

Just last week Robert Durst (78) was sentenced to life imprisonment in Los Angeles (US state California) for the murder of his close friend Susan Berman († 55) …

Now Durst has to go back to court, again for murder! The real estate heir and multimillionaire is said to have killed his wife Kathleen McCormack Durst († 29) in 1982. Kathleen’s body was never found.

It is the third murder trial that Durst has to face: in 2003 he was charged with the murder of his neighbor Morris Black († 71), but acquitted for lack of evidence. Durst shot Black in an argument in 2001 – in self-defense, as he testified in court. Forensic experts have not been able to conclusively determine whether this is really true. Because Durst dismembered the corpse of his neighbor and sank it in the Bay of Galveston (US state Texas). His head was never found.

It is unclear whether there will really be a court date: Robert Durst has not only been fighting with bladder cancer since May of this year, but is currently also in the intensive care unit with Corona and must be artificially ventilated.

Kathleen McCormack was Durst’s alleged first murder victim. The dental specialist met the millionaire heir in 1971 when Durst was running a health food store in Vermont. They married two years later. But the marriage was unhappy, and thirst kept beating his wife. In 1982 Kathleen disappeared without a trace after an argument with her husband.

In 2015, HBO aired a documentary about Robert Durst’s crimes. In March of the same year, just hours before the final broadcast of “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst”, he was arrested.

Because Durst had apparently unintentionally made a kind of murder confession in the documentary. The multimillionaire was apparently unaware that the microphone was on when he mumbled to himself while going to the toilet: “What the hell have I done? Killed them all, of course. ”Durst’s lawyers argued that the recording had been heavily edited and altered. Durst rejects all allegations made against him.
