This September marks the 18th anniversary of the death of Steve Irwin (✝44). With him in mind, his children Bindi (26) and Robert (20) dedicate a touching article to the famous Australian zookeeper on InstagramThe daughter shares a previously unpublished photo online in which Robert is holding a crocodile half his size in his arms. “It is an honor to help continue the work you started. Your legacy lives on. […] I hope I make you proud”she comments on her post.
Robert also shows his dad on an adventure with a crocodile. As the TV personality sits in a small boat with a camera on his shoulder, the reptile appears in front of him, reaching over the edge and looking directly into the lens. Steve’s son decorates his post with a red heart and an emoji of the animal in the comments section.
Steve rose to fame in the early 2000s through animal documentaries. As the “Crocodile Hunter” he fascinated his fans with his knowledge and courage in dealing with animals. However, in 2006, the TV presenter died at the age of 44 when he was stung in the chest by a stingray while diving in the Great Barrier Reef. This year he would have turned 62 years old.
