Robbie Williams (46) has been on the stage for two decades. In bulging stadiums he performs hits like “Angels” or “Rock DJ”. His fans sing along every line – unlike him, without any help. Because in an interview with “The Sun on Sunday” Robbie Williams now admits that he is dependent on a teleprompter.

“If you were now in a stadium full of people and had used drugs earlier in your life, your brain would also no longer function properly,” says Williams. The Brit was known for his drug and alcohol use. He therefore ended up in withdrawal clinics. He has been clean for 20 years. But he still feels the consequences of his escapades. The drugs also seem to have had an impact on his mental health, because he singer suffers from anxiety: “The last thing you want to do when 80,000 people stare at you is to say: ‘Yes, I forgot the text ›. That’s why I got a teleprompter because I have anxiety and that’s a high-pressure scenario for me. »

Drinking is as natural as breathing
About a month ago, the singer already spoke about alcohol and drug abuse. In an Instagram livestream, he described his countrymen as blinded. He said of alcohol consumption: “In the UK and in many places, it is as natural as breathing.” Drinking is encouraged especially among young people: “You just don’t think about it – you leave school, then you go to the pub and that’s it, then you drink.”
