Robbie Williams and his wife Ida Field have admitted that they hardly ever have sex. The former Take That singer blamed his lack of libido on testosterone injections, which he stopped taking because they made his depression worse. In a joint interview, the couple insisted they are “on the same page” when it comes to intimacy and are happy with the lack of activity in the bedroom.
Robbie, 49, told The Sun newspaper: “Everybody knows there’s no sex after marriage. That’s just the way things are. I was taking testosterone for a while but had to stop. He gave me these massive square shoulders and I started to look like a janitor.”
„But the sex we had when I was on testosterone was amazing – we had it all the time. We were insatiable. We literally couldn’t keep our hands off each other“, adds the British singer.
Robbie also says: “I miss this period. It was fun. Sometimes, though, Ida turns to me on the couch and says, “We should have sex,” and I sit there, eating a tangerine and just shrug. Well, sometimes we try” writes tialoto.bg.
However, the 43-year-old American actress, who married the pop star in 2010, insists she and Robbie are enjoying a happy married life despite the lack of sex. She says: “Intimacy is the important, meaningful side of love. But we are happy even without her.”
Robbie recently showed off his incredibly toned physique, months after revealing he’s struggled with being overweight over the years. The singer of the hit Angels has four children with his wife – two daughters and two sons (10-year-old daughter Theodora, 8-year-old son Charlton, 4-year-old daughter Coco and 2-year-old son Beau).
In the video in question, Robbie is topless playing with his young son wearing Louis Vuitton shorts.
Back in September of last year, the singer admitted that he was finally happy with his figure after he managed to lose a lot of weight. Robbie has in the past been open about his various addictions, both to food and drugs. He released his XXV album last year, and recently returned from a tour marking 25 years since he began his solo career (following his departure from Take That).
Speaking to The Sun, Robbie said: “I’ve lost weight, but it’s a constant struggle. There’s a fat man hiding inside of me. I thank God for the vanity, and I thank God for my job, because if I wasn’t doing what I do for a living, I dread to think what I would look like and what I would become.”
The singer, who has been sober for 20 years, revealed that he has finally learned to accept himself after struggling with low self-esteem in the past.
He shared: “I used to hate myself and think I can’t sing and I look bad. If anyone thought I was hanging around with an inflated sense of self-importance, I was quite the opposite.’
