Robbie Keane Returns to England as Leeds United Assistant: Can He Save Them from Relegation?

VALENCIA. (EFE) .- The legendary Robbie Keane, who scored more than 100 goals in the Premier League, has returned to England as Sam Allardyce’s assistant at Leeds United, the club where he played for two years.

Keane played in England for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Coventry City, Leeds, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, West Ham and Aston Villa, as well as Inter Milan, Celtic Glasgow, LA Galaxy and Atlético from Calcutta.

After retiring in 2018, Keane began his coaching career, as an assistant for Middlesbrough, alongside former teammate Jonathan Woodgate, and for the Irish national team.

Now, with the arrival of Allardyce on the Leeds bench for the four remaining games of the season, Keane has joined the English coach’s coaching staff and will try to do his bit to save the ‘Whites’ from relegation to the Championship ( English second division).

“I really like his personality and I want him to come and give these people a boost. Not only because of what he knows as a striker, but because he knows what Leeds means and he loves this place,” Allardyce said at a press conference on Wednesday. .

Throughout his career, Keane made more than 500 appearances and scored more than 250 goals at club level, as well as making 146 appearances for the Irish national team, scoring 68 goals in 22 years.
