“With the arrival of Robbie, the breakfast news team is back at full strength,” says editor-in-chief Ilse Openneer. “It will be undeniably different without Jan de Hoop, but we will continue to invest unabated in our morning news provision. It is an honor to have been a permanent part of the morning ritual of millions of Dutch people for more than 30 years.”
Go to bed extra early
Kammeijer says he is looking forward to his new job within RTL. “I have said ‘yes’ with full conviction and I am very happy with the opportunity to familiarize myself with the RTL Breakfast news. Together with the team I will work on how we can inform our viewers as best as possible at the breakfast table.”
Peaking so early in the day will take some getting used to, says Kammeijer. “From now on, I go to bed extra early to look rested so early by then.”
Warm bad
Jan de Hoop says he has every confidence in his successor. “Robbie ends up in a warm bath. I wish him and the entire team the best of luck.”
