Robbery, resale of cigarettes: the gang exploited young offenders in the Paris subway

It’s time to answer for the petty mafia. Seven men, aged between 25 and 54, are on trial before the Paris criminal court for trafficking in human beings, concealment in organized gangs and money laundering. They are suspected of having led, between October 2020 and April 2021 in Paris and Île-de-France, a network of teenagers specialized in violent thefts in transport and the resale of cigarettes on the fly. This network would operate thirteen unaccompanied minors (MNA), forcing them to steal themselves. The investigators of the subdirectorate for the fight against irregular immigration estimate that their loot could reach 500,000 euros.
