It was not far from 7 p.m. this Friday evening, rue des Halles in Carpentras, in the city center, when the jeweler of “The Golden Fleece” was surprised by a hooded and gloved man as he was going to pull back the curtain on commerce.
The individual takes out a bladed weapon that looks like a hunting knife and threatens the jeweler who receives blows with the handle and a cut in the face. Upstairs, he will tie her hands and feet to do as he pleases.
The individual, aided by an accomplice, fled after emptying all the contents of the safe, cash and jewelry, and other jewelry placed in the window.
On site, investigators and prosecutor Hélène Mourges will hear the victim at length. The public prosecutor was going to contact the Avignon judicial police branch. Probably the video surveillance images within the business itself will be used.
As for the jeweler aged around sixty, shocked, he was taken care of by the firefighters. This is the second time that a city center jeweler has been robbed in the space of a few months. This would not be his first robbery.
