Robbers pulled open the door of a taxi on Flowcoatstraat in Eindhoven on Friday night and tried to rob a 43-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman from that city. The two assailants threatened the passengers with what appeared to be a firearm around 12:30 p.m.
“When the taxi came to a standstill on Flowcoatstraat in the Strijp district, the door of the taxi was suddenly pulled open,” a police spokeswoman said. “They tried to rob the two people from Eindhoven.”
The taxi driver quickly drove away when he saw the weapon. The robbers then fled.
