On July 18, 2022, at around 8:30 a.m., two previously unknown perpetrators tried to force their way into the apartment of a 74-year-old from Linz by disguising themselves as a parcel deliverer and thus persuading the later victim to open the main entrance door on the ground floor via the intercom . The two perpetrators moved purposefully to the 3rd floor of the apartment building to the man’s apartment door. The 74-year-old opened it and a perpetrator gave him a small brown package. At the same moment, one of the unknown perpetrators grabbed the man in the neck area and tried to push him back into the apartment. The 74-year-old began to scream loudly, whereupon the cleaner who was working in the apartment became aware and went to the apartment door. Due to the loud hysterical screams, the perpetrator released the stranglehold and both fled without taking anything. The victim was not injured but was in shock, police said.
Perpetrator description:
– Man, approx. 180 to 190 centimeters tall, strong build, short dark brown hair, no beard, no glasses, probably Slavic appearance, yellow short-sleeved T-shirt
– Person dressed in dark.
Vehicle description:
– Audi station wagon white, recent model year.
The police are asking for information.
