In a DHL jacket, a man armed with two others is said to have gained access to a house and robbed the residents – twice. Now the police are releasing pictures of the perpetrators.
After two similar robberies on houses in the Frankfurt area, the police and the public prosecutor’s office turned to the public with photos of the suspects. The special thing about the case: one of the perpetrators wormed his way into the trust of the residents of the house with a DHL jacket. The last robbery happened on March 1, 2021, the police said on Wednesday.
According to this, two men rang the bell at the residential building on Geranienstraße in Ober-Roden and pretended to be a parcel floor: As can be seen in the pictures, one of them was wearing a DHL jacket. After the couple opened the door, the perpetrators allegedly threatened them with a gun, overpowered them and tied them up.

The perpetrators were busy in the house for half an hour, packing numerous valuables in a white bag and then fleeing in the direction of Schweriner Straße. A third perpetrator had been standing on the other side of the street “smear” over time. The men’s booty consisted in particular of high-quality luxury watches and jewellery. The total value of the looted property amounts to a six-figure sum.

Attack in a DHL jacket: the police are asking the public for help
Since the investigations have not been successful even a year after the attack, the police are now asking the public for help. Using the pictures and descriptions of the perpetrators, she would like to draw the attention of witnesses or acquaintances of the perpetrators. Accordingly, the two alleged parcel carriers were between 30 and 45 years old and spoke Russian.
The perpetrator in the DHL jacket was between 1.80 and 1.85 meters tall and strong and also wore dark trousers, a dark wool hat, black and white sneakers, a face mask and latex gloves. He also had a dummy package with him. His accomplice was 1.70 to 1.75 meters tall and also spoke German. He is also said to have worn dark clothing with a wool hat, black and white sneakers and latex gloves, and probably a white FFP2 mask.
The man who is said to have been the lookout for the two robbers was 1.75 meters to 1.85 meters and also wore a presumably white FFP2 mask and a dark winter hat. Also a beige jacket, gray pants and dark shoes. According to the police, only pictures of him were of poor quality.

Police assign perpetrators to another robbery
The investigators assume that the same perpetrators had struck a month earlier: in Offenbach-Bieber, on February 1, 2021, two supposed parcel delivery men also entered a house with a gun, tied up the residents and stole cash from them. Here, too, one of the men was wearing a DHL jacket.
It is still unclear where the uniform of one perpetrator came from. “The jacket may have been stolen, the robber may have borrowed the item of clothing. It could also be a real DHL employee. That’s still unclear, the investigation is continuing,” police spokesman Thomas Leipold told t- on-line.
Witnesses who have seen the men fleeing or who recognize them in the pictures are asked to contact the officials. It would also be interesting if anyone found the watches for sale. Information can be given to the Offenbach criminal police on 069 8098-1234.
According to the police, the case will also be discussed on Wednesday (March 16) in the program “Aktenzeichen XY…unsolved”.
