Linda de Mol (60) makes the trip from SBS to RTL for a new TV quiz called ‘Brilliant Brains’. With a clear green light from the head of Talpa and his brother John de Mol (69) – and Rob Goossens (33) thinks that is amazing. In The BLVD podcast he expresses his condolences to Rob Kamphues (64). He will soon present a similar show on SBS6, which, according to a Boulevard expert, is clearly not trusted by John.
“Poor, poor Rob Kamphues”
Linda says that Iain is ‘loaning’ him to RTL 4, as they believe the program ‘best suits the RTL viewer’. In the meantime, starting on November 18, Lotto The Quiz Marathon starts on SBS6 presented by Rob Kamphues. Also a quiz program with a reality element. So why is John competing with, well, himself?
“If John de Mol is already working on something else with his own sister, I gather they don’t have much confidence in this version,” says Rob Goossens. “This is really more of the beta version of the Linda de Mol will soon become a formula of Great brains success, then John can become ‘heavenly riches’ from here.
“Poor, poor, poor Rob Kamphues,” Rob concludes, “because he’s now been channeled by something that John de Mol seems to be thinking: well, sure we are not going to send this to RTL 4.”
And Linda? According to co-podcast host Eric de Munck, it was actually ‘never a very good match’ with her brother’s current channel. “I won’t say she’s ashamed of SBS6, but of course she’s Linda de Mol, the queen of TV, and then SBS6 is a bit like going from Albert Heijn to Action.” As soon as John will put SBS6 up for sale, he is sure that Linda will soon be packing her ‘golden suitcases’ to go back to RTL.
