Roaring start for Lost Ark – so many played this weekend

The launch of Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG’s new online action role-playing game Lost Ark looks promising for companies. The game was opened to the public last Friday and according to figures from Steamdb it has already stormed to a second place on the list of games with the most players online at the same time on Steam.

Lost Ark clocked in a maximum of 1,311,842 players at the same time, beating Counter Strike: Global Offensive’s record of 1,308,963 players and Dota 2’s 1,295,114 players. Only PUBG is worse, but also has an unbeatable top rating of 3,257,248 players.

Steamdb measures the number of players who have the game application running via Steam, but can not determine if users are actually playing, if they are waiting to be admitted to the servers, or just have the game open in the main menu.

Lost Ark is a Diablo-like game set in a high-tech fantasy world. The game was first released in South Korea in 2019 and has also been launched in Japan and Russia.
