Roanne. Mental health information weeks have started

When we talk about a health problem, the psychological aspect is often overlooked. Yet, according to a World Health Organization (WHO) study, one in five people have a mental health problem every year. The figure even rises to one in three people over the course of a lifetime.

It was to raise awareness of these issues that Mental Health Information Weeks (SISM) were created in 1989.

For three years Roannais agglomeration has wanted to participate in this event. “You should know that psychological, family, social problems … can affect everyone at one time or another”, explains Maryvonne Loughraieb, vice-president in particular in charge of health.

Goal; change the look

For this new edition of the SISM which takes place from October 4 to 17, Roannais agglomeration has therefore chosen to get involved. “The objective of this event unfolds in five essential points. It is about raising public awareness and changing the outlook on mental health problems. On the other hand, we must inform the public, bring together the various professional actors, develop solidarity networks and make known the places and people who can help ”.

For the Roannais the complete program of these SISM is available on the site of Roannais agglomeration. Still remember the date of October 12 with a large exhibition in the Bonnefille room, from 12 to 6 p.m., and a round table-debate in the conference area of the Pierre Mendès-France Center from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
