Authorities in Great Britain are planning to introduce road taxes for electric cars. This will happen in 2025, exactly five years before the official ban on the sale of cars with internal combustion engines. However, the government promises that taxes will be low with a price tag of around €20 for people who bought low-emission cars before 2017.
A similar measure to deprive electric cars of road tax has been taken by many countries over the past 10 years, including Bulgaria. Electric cars also benefit from further advantages in our country, parking for free in some of the main cities.
Rumors have circulated in recent months that the Bulgarian authorities will also take a similar step and electric cars will be taxed, but there is no official information yet.
