During the road safety prevention days, organized within the Mirepoix high school, on April 17 and 18, second, final and BTS students were able to become aware of the risks associated with dangerous behavior on the road. , whether on two wheels, in a car or even as a pedestrian.
In addition to the agents of the prefecture, road prevention, the gendarmerie and the fire brigade, a stuntman was also present on site to educate future drivers. Five workshops were offered, including the “barrel car”. A vehicle specially adapted to simulate rolls between 10 and 15 km/h. A moment that amused some students, but still made them realize the importance of wearing your seatbelt.
Two-wheeler and car simulators had also been set up. Individually, with the explanations and expertise of the speakers, young people with a road safety certificate (BSR), a car or two-wheeler license were able to undergo simulators and assess their reaction time in order to avoid a danger, or test their anticipation in all situations.
The other two activities focused on the risks associated with alcohol consumption. Teenagers and young adults were then able to test the glasses imitating a drunken state. Another workshop detailed more theoretical explanations of blood alcohol levels.
Finally, the students in the second class were able to attend a spectacular reconstruction of an accident. In the script, a car had just hit a model on her scooter. The effect was impressive.
