Road Safety Awareness Campaign for Young Students in Fontoy: See and be Seen

Around Philippe Deschamps, sub-prefect of Thionville, Audrey Leforestier, head of the departmental road safety unit, Warrant Officer Michaël Muller, of the BMO (Motorized Brigade) of Hayange, animated, for more than an hour, a themed course See and be seen at the Central School. This is part of an awareness campaign aimed at CM2 students in Fontoy.

Very exposed to the risks of the road, children are fragile targets who must be aware, from an early age, of the dangers they may encounter during journeys between home and school, on foot, by bicycle or on a scooter.

Thus, an action aimed at giving young users the right gestures and reflexes to adopt in the face of road hazards is organized by the departmental road safety center of the Moselle prefecture.

” I’m very impressed “

Philippe Deschamps, sub-prefect of Thionville, went to meet all the pupils of the Center school, greeted them, before going to a room where Mrs. Tronchin, director, the school staff, a few elected officials and, of course, schoolchildren.

Before Audrey Leforestier’s intervention, he answered many questions asked by the schoolchildren, very inspired, in particular on his daily role, what the function of sub-prefect requires, his involvement in relation to the role of the mayor , her clothing and many other things.

“I am very impressed, they are very interested and all the reactions are good,” said the sub-prefect.

Philippe Deschamps told the students that in Moselle, young girls could, one day, be sub-prefect or prefect. Audrey Leforestier then discussed safety, because being a pedestrian can be learned. She gave the rules to follow before students put them into practice.
