Road Renovation Work in Nîmes Sector by VINCI: Updates and Closures in October

Work carried out by VInci is in progress until October 13 in the Nîmes sector.

Since autumn 2021, VINCI Autoroutes has undertaken road renovation work between the Nîmes Est (No. 24) and Nîmes Ouest (No. 25) interchanges. The last phase of this project, which concerns 23 km of roadways (11.5 km per direction), began on Monday September 4 and will end on Friday October 13.

“The work is carried out exclusively at night, from Monday to Friday, in order to preserve optimal traffic conditions for drivers,” explains Vinci. After an in-depth renovation of the lower layers of the roadway carried out in autumn 2021 and spring 2022, the teams are now renewing the wearing course with draining mixes to a depth of 4 cm, on all traffic lanes including the lane. ’emergency stop.

The nights of October 4 and 5 impacted

“So the nights of Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 October, details Vinci, the exit ramp from Orange / Lyon and the entrance ramp towards Montpellier will be closed at the Nîmes Ouest interchange (n°25), from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day . The junction road coming from Orange/Lyon and towards Arles (A54), as well as the junction road coming from Arles (A54) and towards Montpellier (A9) will also be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day.”

Diversion routes will be in place for these two nights, encouraging motorists to use exits or entrances further upstream or downstream.
