Libreville, June 24, 2023 (AGP) – The Minister Delegate for Public Works and the Connection of Territories, Emmanuel Eyeghe Nze, launched the construction of the Mimongo-Offoue bridge road site in the Ogoulou department, Ngounié province, southern Gabon.
The rehabilitation works of the Mimongo-Offoue bridge axis, spanning 73.5 km, will connect the provinces of Ngounié in the South and Ogooué-Lolo in the South-East of Gabon. This road will facilitate the movement of people and goods, allowing them to sell their products more efficiently.
The project, executed by the Woodbois company, is part of the maintenance program for unpaved roads initiated by the Head of State, Ali Bongo Ondimba. The program aims to connect the hinterland territories that have been isolated from the rest of the country.
The local population is delighted with this initiative and has urged the government to extend similar projects to other roads. The president of the Departmental Council of Ogoulou, Moïse Mogangue Maclatchy, suggested that the Yeno-Lébamba, Yeno-Massima, Moukabou-Dibassa, and Eteke-Ovala axes, which have been cut off for several years due to landslides, also deserve attention.
After the completion of the Mimongo-Offoue bridge road, the construction of roads in Tchibanga and Moabi will follow.
