NEW YORK – You’re going to be close Times Square this new year?
The New York City Police have announced street closures to welcome 2023. Street parking will be extremely limited in midtown Manhattan throughout the day on Saturday, and people are encouraged to take public transportation.
Here’s what drivers need to know, and here we answer all your top celebration questions Times Square to celebrate the new year.
Road closures in New York City for New Year’s Eve
Beginning at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, the New York City Police Department will close the following streets to vehicular traffic:
- Seventh Street from 42nd Street until the 49th street.
- Broadway from 42nd Street until the 49th street.
- From 43rd street until the 48th street, from Sixth Street until the 8th street.
Beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, the New York City Police Department will close the following streets to vehicular traffic:
- south of 7th street yes Broadway from 38th street until the 59th street.
- From 6th street until the 8th street.
- 38th street until the 56th streetfrom 6th street until the 8th street.
These closures apply to commercial vehicles and other large vehicles, including trucks, and start at 11am on Saturdays:
- North of 6th street from 34th street until the 59th street.
- North of 8th street from 34th street until the 59th street.
- And of 9th street from 37th street until the 59th street.
- west of 5th avenue from 35th street until the 59th street.
