A big change is coming to the 2025 road tax. For the first time, the tiered surcharge in case of overdue payment as the free extensions given by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance (MINE) every year were abolished.
More specifically, the competent ministry defined by law the surcharges in case of late payment of Traffic Fees for a period of 1 to 2 months, as after that the charge refers to the payment of twice the amount of Traffic Fees.
Traffic fees: The changes
– Traffic fees 2025: Payment by 31/12
– Amount of fees: Same as last year
– Posting of new traffic fees: Beginning of November
– Extension: None
Fines
– Payment from 1/1 to 1/31: 25% penalty
– Payment from 1/2 to 28/2: 50% penalty
– Payment after 2/28: 100% penalty
– From January 1, 2025: Compulsory insurance for natural disasters I.X.
