The Malagasy army in mourning. On Saturday April 29, 2023, two soldiers were killed in a traffic accident on the RN2, at a place called Sarimasina, 10 km from the city of Toamasina in the direction of Antananarivo. That day, the armored car of the army, carrying elements from carrying out the international maneuver called “Ivondro 2023” in Toamasina overturned in a ravine after missing a turn. According to information from law enforcement investigating the case, the victims, namely 2SI Silamo Soa Niavana and S2C Richardson Tania Ramahavonjy, were in the back of this off-road vehicle when the accident happened.
