RK Ready to face Anies in Jakarta Gubernatorial Election, reluctant to face empty box

Ridwan Kamil (RK) said he was ready to move on Jakarta 2024 gubernatorial election after the Progressive Coalition of Indonesia (KIM) agreed to carry the name of Dedi Mulyadi in the West Java gubernatorial election. RK also admitted that he was ready to fight against anyone in the Jakarta gubernatorial election, including Anies Baswedan.

RK held a meeting with Golkar Party President Airlangga Hartarto regarding his determination to run in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. After meeting Airlangga, RK said he was optimistic about his bid.

“I am an optimistic person,” RK told reporters at the official residence of Airlangga Hartarto, Widya Chandra Complex, South Jakarta, Thursday (8/8/2024).

He also said he was ready if he had to fight with former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. He also emphasized that he did not want to run against an empty box in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

“I am ready to play with anyone. When I was mayor, I played against 8 pairs, when I played against West Java, I played 4 pairs. Jakarta with anyone,” said RK.
