Chief Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab attended the launching of the book The Revolutionary Thought by Syahganda Nainggolan via voice recording. The event was also attended by the Presidium of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (WE) Gatot Nurmantyo.
Jakarta FPI Chairman Muhsin Alatas played the recording. Rizieq asked Syahganda and two other US officials to be released from prison.

OUR Presidium, Gatot Nurmantyo, admitted that he had proposed a suspension of detention for three US officials who were caught in cases of hate speech.
But Gatot’s idea was rejected by Jumhur Hidayat, Syahganda Nainggolan and Anton Perdana. Gatot said he was surprised by the rejection.
“It is very surprising. Both Syahganda, Jumhur, and Anton require that the letter of suspension be rejected by them. They do not want the suspension letter only because of one condition,” said Gatot.
Gatot explained that there are three conditions that must be met if the three people are to be postponed. First, the three of them must agree not to eliminate evidence.
The second condition is that they cannot be blurred. Then the last condition is that the three people must promise not to repeat their actions again.
“The third one is rejected by all of them. So they are better off in detention, leaving and continuing the struggle,” said Gatot.
Previously, three US officials were arrested by the police in cases of suspected hate speech. Jumhur Hidayat, Syahganda Nainggolan, and Anton Perdana were accused of making hate speech which sparked a wave of protests against the Job Creation Law.
Head of the National Police’s Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) Brigadier General Awi Setiyono said the three had become suspects and were detained on Wednesday (14/10).
The three people were named suspects since last October 14. They were accused of being the people who instigated the masses to hold a massive demonstration against the Job Creation Bill.
