Riyadh: nominations open for the 2025 King Faisal Prize – AGP

Libreville, September 02, 2023 (AGP) – The General Secretariat of the King Faisal Foundation has announced the opening of the nomination process for the 47th edition of the King Faisal Prize 2025, according to a press release from the foundation published on Friday September 1, 2023.

According to PRF Secretary General Dr. Abdulaziz Alsebail, the award commissions have chosen as topics this year: Islamic Studies Prize: “Studies in the Antiquities of the Arabian Peninsula” and Prize for Islamic Studies: “Studies dealing with identity in Arabic literature”.

Dr. Alsebail added that the subject of the medicine prize will revolve around: Cellular Therapy” while the scientific prize will be awarded to “Physics”. As for the Service to Islam Prize, it will be awarded to those who have played a pioneering role in the service of Islam and Muslims, intellectually, scientifically and socially, through various works, activities, programs and projects. that have an impact on the Muslim community.

He therefore indicated that applications can be made by institutions, scientific centers and universities from September 1, specifying that they will remain open until March 2024.

Since 1979, more than 290 scientists from 45 countries have won the King Faisal Prize, and several of its winners have gone on to win prestigious international awards.

The winner in each of the five branches of the prize will receive a fine paper patent written in Arabic calligraphy, a 24-carat gold medal weighing 200 grams and an amount of 200 thousand US dollars or more than 120 million Fcfa.

As a reminder, the King Faisal International Prize is an annual Saudi Arabian distinction sponsored by the King Faisal Foundation. It highlights personalities and institutions from all over the world, having contributed to the advancement of mankind and in particular the Muslim world.
