Al Sharqia Health Club activates the “Home Medicine” program for mental illnesses and addictive diseases

Eastern Health Complex in Irada and Mental Health Complex in Dammam have implemented the home medicine program, in order to service patients through an integrated treatment team that reaches service beneficiaries in their homes, as well as setting up 20 virtual clinical centers.

Operation Chief of Dammam’s Irada and Mental Health Complex, Abdul Salam Al-Juaib explained that the complex has set up 20 virtual clinics, including 12 mental clinics and 8 drug clinics, as well as the medicine program home care, as the number of patients provided with home care services has reached 554 beneficiaries.

While the new clinics overall, according to Al-Jaib, amount to 29 psychiatric disease clinics and 21 addiction disease clinics, and an addiction rehabilitation unit has been opened for women and to help them recover, in order to provide an integrated rehabilitation treatment program to help them recover.

Al-Juaib indicated that the services provided to patients are medical, psychological and social assistance, as well as providing rehabilitation programs for individuals suffering from mental illness or addictive diseases, through specialized treatment programs for each individual according to the medical condition and to the clinical diagnosis of the patient, including: treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts, treatment of psychological and mental disorders and therapeutic counseling to patients’ families, as well as providing community psychological counseling and services for the early diagnosis of psychological conditions through the Unit of mental health for community service, as well as providing preventive programs for the local community through educational classes on and off the complex for various educational, military and other sectors.

Al-Juaib added that the number of visits to patients attending the home health care service, from January 2022 to December of the current year, has reached 9031 visitors, and an organizational project to receive the auditor, ie: reviewing policies and procedures, redesigning the sorting mechanism and organizing the route of non-urgent cases and directing them to outpatient clinics, in order to provide complete health care to the auditor.
