Riyadh – The Ministry of Commerce announced that 102 candidates have submitted nomination papers to run for the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors elections. Fourteen of them are women. A Gulf businessman has also filed nomination papers. The Election Supervisory Committee will scrutinize the nomination papers and ensure that the conditions are complete and the final list of candidates will be announced within a few days. After this the election date will be announced.
There is a condition that the candidates for the election of the Chamber Board of Directors should have not less than ten years of experience in the business sector. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with not less than five years of experience. There are conditions that the Chamber subscription must be duly paid, commercial registration must have been in force for at least three years prior to submission of nomination papers, must not be a member of the Board of Directors of another Chamber of Commerce, and must not be a relative among the candidates.
